my appreciation to all strategic partners

The development of the Bendera Pusaka Park is a commitment of Jakarta Provincial Government to adding inclusive, modern, and family-friendly Green Open Spaces (RTH).

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno and Indonesia's 5th President Megawati Soekarnoputri. In his remarks, Pramono expressed his appreciation for the support and contributions of various parties in creating this park, which features various sports facilities.

"I would like to express my appreciation to all strategic partners of the Jakarta Provincial Government, existing state-owned enterprises, planners, sculptors, architects, and all collaborators who have contributed to supporting the completion of the construction of the Bendera Pusaka Park and also the statue of Mrs. Fatmawati," he said.

This 5.6-hectare park is the result of the integration of three surrounding parks namely Ayodya Park, Leuser Park, and Langsat Park. Various facilities are provided for the public, including a 1.2-kilometer jogging track, an amphitheater, a multi-purpose court (basketball, tennis, and badminton), and a padel court, which residents can use free of charge through a registration system.

There are also six designated areas for MSMEs to support their activities. The park also features a statue of Fatmawati sewing the Pusaka flag.

The presence of the Fatmawati statue is a form of respect and appreciation for a figure who has rendered significant contributions to the nation and state. Pramono expressed his desire to make the Bendera Pusaka Park a symbol of Jakarta's pride, steeped in national history.

"This symbol of our pride, our national symbol of the Republic of Indonesia, is truly created, presented by Mrs. Fatmawati Soekarnoputri," he added.

The Governor explained that the park's design was inspired by the philosophy of the Red and White Flag. The red zone is active and dynamic, while the white zone is calm and reflective. The two zones are connected by pedestrian paths, bridges, and open spaces.

The construction of the Bendera Pusaka Park was carried out without using the City Budget, but by utilizing Building Floor Coefficient (KLB) and SP3L funds.

"This is a collaborative fund with the private sector. Funds come from the KLB and also from the SP3L. So, it's entirely a collaborative fund with the private sector," he stated.

The Bendera Pusaka Park will be open 24 hours a day and equipped with CCTV to ensure visitor safety. It will also feature 12 species of plants, totaling 285 trees, including several rare trees, including menteng, ebony, cempaka, kecapi, and others, to help make Jakarta greener and more sustainable.
